If I Had a Million Dollars...

Okay, we're not going to lie, we have Mega Millions fever. Just the thought of winning $500 million has our head swimming with all the stuff we can buy! Obviously, there's so many other things we'd want to do with the money, such as pay off student loans, buy beautiful homes for our families, donate to charity, travel around the world, blah blah blah. But when we're talking purely tangible items, here's out must have list of things-we-want-but-could-never-afford-unless-we-won-the-lottery. Just in case.

Fresh Faced Florals

As Meryl Streep's character says in The Devil Wears Prada, "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking..." And we get it, it's a bit overplayed and cliched, but there's a reason for that! Large floral prints remind us of Kelly Kapowski -- effortlessly beautiful, carefree and casual. If you don't want to look too Laura Ashley, then dress down your look by mixing prints, throwing on a military jacket, or adding a pair of lace up boots. Otherwise tousle your hair, put on a charm bracelet, and in no time Zack Morris and A.C. Slater will be vying for your attention.

Katniss Everdeen: Girl on Fire

We can hardly contain our excitement!!!  The Hunger Games is finally here.  And, with it, our final character inspiration.  Katniss goes through an intense transformation in The Hunger Games that leads her to be known as "the girl who was on fire".  Here's our idea of how you can get a similar fiery hot look for your next special occasion.

Happy Hunger Games!

Color Day Themes: Cute as a Button!

Remember our friend Jen over at Land and Laboratory who created those beautiful button bib necklaces?  Well, she just recently tied the knot over in Australia (Congrats!) and we were able to catch a glimpse at some early photos thanks to Facebook.  Any idea what inspired her wedding decor?  If you guessed buttons, you guessed right!  Her charming button theme idea certainly inspired us and we can't wait to get a look at her professional photos.  But, until then, here are some ideas for your very own buttoned theme event.  Best part - much of this can be DIY, especially if you're like us an save that extra button they give you with basically every shirt you buy:

Lovely in Lace

We love love love white lace for Spring. It's so fresh, classy, and romantic, and when worn right brings out your inner Kate Middleton. The trick is to find a look that isn't too demure or over the top, and with just a touch of sexy. For a sweeter look, go for soft curls and delicate accessories. Or vamp it up with some red lipstick or black accessories. Who said lace is only for doilies?

It's Easy Being Green

Happy (almost) St. Patrick's Day dolls! Get our your four leaf clovers, lucky charms and, most importantly, get ready to deck yourself out in your favorite shade of green this Saturday. While we're both partial to wearing a bright and vibrant kelly green, a subtle mint green should do the trick and keep you from getting heckled (or pinched!) during the day's festivities.  And lucky for you, green is a big color this Spring, so you'll be sure to get a lot of wear out of your selection. Here is some inspiration that will have your friends going green with envy!

 1. Modcloth | 2. Urban Outfitters | 3. BHLDN | 4. Anthropologie | 5. Macy's | 6. Anemone Jewelry | 7.
Vans

Top of the morning to you!

Happy Birthday to us!

Well, another year has passed here at PDR.  Once again, we thank all of you who keep reading our little blog, commenting, and sharing your ideas. Ready for a little year in review?  Well, here goes!

This time last year we had just over 40 followers.  Now, we have close to 100!  This time last year we didn't even have a Facebook page but now nearly 90 people "like" us and interact with us via Facebook.. Even more exciting is the fact that from March 8th of last year to March 6th of this year we've reached over 123,000 visitors from 6 continents with our primary readers catching up with us from the US, Canada, England, Australia, The Philippines, and India.  Some of our new visitors found us with Google, others were referred to us by Pinterest, but however you found us we are certainly glad you did and we look forward to continuing to inspire you.

Thanks for a great year, dolls!

Marni for H&M

We love designer collaborations and are excited to announce the next big partnership that will launch this Thursday (PDR's second birthday!).  Italian designer Marni will be collaborating with H&M and launching a collection of accessories and  whimsical dresses and tops in bright colors and funky prints.  Check out some of our favorites here and be sure to snatch these up early.  If it's anything like the Jason Wu for Target launch, we can expect it to sell out rather quickly.

The Hunger Games Character Inspiration: Effie Trinket

It's March and you know what that means!  First, it means PDR will be turning two! Can we get to 100 followers by our birthday next week?  We'll need your help on that one so please follow us and tell your friends.
Second, and more importantly...

  It's Hunger Games month!

We love this series and are super excited to see it come to the big screen.  With just about 3 weeks until the movie, we figured we'd give you a little inspiration for channeling everyone's favorite Capitol fashionista, Effie Trinket.  How can you dress like the proper and always ladylike Effie?  Go for matching colors literally from head to toe, hair included. Wear the puffiest sleeves possible, slip on a pair of metallic peep toe booties (she loves her McQueen inspired ones) with the highest heels, and find the biggest, most obnoxious, flower fascinator you can find.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
